CALL 2026

With the aim of fostering experiences that allow understanding and interacting with aspects of the local culture in a multidisciplinary dimension, artists carry out their research and production, getting to know one another and meeting local personalities, workshops and art institutions.

We seek a working atmosphere based on the exchange of styles and genres — informal, yet capable of fostering professional and personal growth.

We promote artistic research in a relational environment where individual artists can develop their own projects, but within a shared space.
The selected artists will create the works that will form a final exhibition in the spaces of Madreselva, under the curatorial direction of artist and teacher Clever Lara (see his CV).

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Personal details, short CV and motivation for participation.
A description of the residency project to be carried out at Madreselva.
Timing and technical needs for the project.
Portfolio, website or dossier with a selection of completed works.

FEATURES OF THE MADRESELVA SPACE
During the residency, guests are accommodated in the house’s rooms, with the option of single or double solutions; they can use the kitchen or find prepared meals, and have workspaces tailored to personal needs.
As an artist residency, we can issue invitations and letters of support for artists who have the possibility to apply for specific funding to support their participation. In addition, the residency may consider partial participation grants.

2027 PREVIEW
We wish to offer, for the February/March period, a unique experience focused on the cultural and artistic events typical of Montevideo and Uruguay during Carnival.
We will provide some information to spark interest.

Dirigido a artistas, creativos y investigadores que quieran conocer/experimentar la cultura uruguay. Posibilidad de residencia breve y propuesta de fecha individual. Residencias autogestionadas y libres con posibilidad de proponer proyectos, workshop, muestras y de participar a las clases y milongas de tango u otros tipos de actividades presentes en la casa.
